[[ About ]]

Built from experience, not theory.

Very Useful AI was founded by Jamie Riley — someone who's spent 30 years working at the intersection of technology, knowledge management, and getting things done in organisations where work crosses multiple people, roles, and systems.

This isn't an agency. It's a practical workflow and knowledge-flow consultancy. We start with how work moves, fix the coordination friction, and apply AI only where it has a clear job to do. Not impressive. Not trendy. Useful.

Based in Horowhenua, New Zealand, working with businesses locally and globally.

[[ How we work ]]

Principles, not platitudes

[[ Clarity over cleverness ]]

If we can't explain it simply, we haven't understood it well enough. Every recommendation comes with a plain-English rationale.

[[ Workflow first ]]

We start with how work moves, not tool selection. Your existing tools, processes, and people are the starting point — not a problem to be replaced.

[[ Selective AI ]]

If AI doesn't improve the system, we don't force it. Communication tools aren't a silver bullet for coordination problems — better workflow is.

[[ Outcomes defined upfront ]]

We define what "better" means before starting, specify how we'll test it, and publish before/after evidence. Then we hand over — your team owns the result.
